IF YOU ARE ELDERLY AND IN NEED OF ESSENTIALS, DIAL...
1 800 718 226
Most of the elderly are NOT on social media. As a volunteer, you can inform them of the Neighbours Helping Neighbours Facebook Group by distributing our flyer, or by making phone calls.
HOW IT WORKS
-
An elderly person, on the age pension, in need of essential items calls 1 800 718 226 and leaves a voicemail.
-
The Neighbours Helping Neighbours administrator listens to the voicemail and posts a "Call For Help" to Neighbours Helping Neighbours Facebook Group.
-
Our Facebook Group members, called 'Public Volunteers,' view the post and respond if they are in the area and are able to help.
-
The Public Volunteer who is able to help uses our "Drop, Ring, Run" method to leave the essential items at the elderly person's doorstep. 100% ZERO CONTACT!
An example 'Call For Help' Facebook post
5. The Public Volunteer leaves a comment on the "Call For Help" post stated that they have "helped" and which
essential supplies were delivered.
6. The Neighbours Helping Neighbours administrator then closes the "Call for Help" on the Neighbours Helping
Neighbours Facebook Group and removes the street address within 48-hours.
DROP, RING, & RUN:
Drop the item at the person's doorstep. Ring the doorbell to alert them that items have been dropped off. Run, leave immediately.
