MEET THE TEAM
Melanie Keetch
Board Member
Melanie has worked within the Contaminated Land industry for over ten years as an environmental scientist, project manager and advisor. For more than 12 years, Mel has been involved in Amateur Football, and is currently serving her eighth year as President of the Houghton Raiders. Mel has also served as a General Committee member, Treasurer and Vice President prior to being President at the Raiders. She has a sound understanding of and appreciation for Volunteer-based organisations.
Marcella St Claire
Board Member
A school performing arts teacher for more than 30 years, Marcella has taught and studied both art and music. A lifelong learner, she has also studied naturopathy, holds graphic design and illustration qualifications and is an avid gardener in her home in the Adelaide Hills. Born in London, Marcella played in the the Redbridge Brass Band in the ‘60s and 70s, performing in the Royal Albert Hall and throughout Europe. Marcella was impressed with Neighbours Helping Neighbours and immediately offered her assistance.
Irma Ferro
Board Member
Irma Ferro has worked in the disability industry for over six years. Prior to the disability industry, Irma worked in the aged care sector. Irma’s passion is to ensure that the elderly are able to access essential items via a volunteer system, such as Neighbours Helping Neighbours. Irma is a mental health first aider, a qualified trainer, and a qualified medication administrator. Irma is also a small business owner, a personal trainer, and beautician.
Katherine Standish
Chairman of the Board & CEO
Katherine (Katie) is an American-Australian dual citizen, residing in Adelaide, South Australia. Prior to founding Neighbours Helping Neighbours, Katie worked as a Work Health and Safety and Environmental (WHSE) expert for over ten years. Katie has worked with high-risk global organisations in the oil and gas, refining, hazardous chemical, environmental, construction, manufacturing, hazardous waste, and logistics industries. In addition, she is a small business owner, wife, and mum. Katie enjoys gardening, drawing, cooking, and travelling.
